The first step is to identify your current assets and so determine your networth. This is addressed via a worksheet which requires financial and convertible (property, antiques, etc.) assets and liabilities to be identified. This is the Net Worth Worksheet. There are printable versions of this and spreadsheet versions There is also one spreadsheet version which is part of an overall financial management spreadsheet

The Lotus 1-2-3 spreadsheet, FPLAN.WK4, and its Microsoft Excel equivalent, FPLAN.XLS, require the all savings in the form of cash deposits, bonds, shares and unit trusts to be identified. This will then automatically complete the financial asset sections of the Net Worth Worksheet.
Then the sections concerning the convertible assets (property, antiques, etc.) can be completed manually.
Once complete, proceed to Step 2.
