Why should I use this service?
There is growing resistance of banks in the UK to finance small business. It is virtually impossible to obtain financing without having secured assets, providing personal guarantees, etc, etc. Angel investors are the logical source to provide financing to small business The main obstacle to such funding is locating and presenting your idea to this large group of investors. Good2use.com presents your idea, business plan and demo to the whole world at the click of a mouse. In order to:
Find capital.
Make it all come together in a fast and efficient way.
Information Memorandum
A vendor of a company will normally prepare an information memorandum, which is essentially a business case (
see our business knowledgebase
), to distribute to potential purchasers who have signed a confidentiality letter. It is usual to attach
a disclaimer
(a health warning) at the front of an information memorandum in order to avoid liability to the recipients for its contents.
Due Diligence
Please be aware that after the initial contact has been made it is the entrepreneurs responsibility to carry out
due diligence
on the investor. Please
inform us
of any suspicious behaviour.
How will I attract the attention of potential investors?
When dealing with an angel investor, at the very least your proposal should address the following;
How much money do you need?
Why do you need it?
When do you need it?
What are you willing to give up to get it?
When and how can you pay it back?
Investors need your answers to these questions before they will even consider investing in you. "Pipe dreams" or unprofessional sounding proposals aren't likely to be successful. You will need a reasonably sound business plan as well as an understanding that investors are not going to just hand over significant sums of money with no strings attached.
How will investors gain legal title to part of my business?
If your business is not already a company it will need to be. The company will have a number of authorised shares some or all of which will have been issued. If not all the authorised shares have been issued then some can be issued to the investor(s) in return for their investment.
Alternatively, some shares can be transferred from existing shareholders to the new investor(s).
